Jordanian Communist Party
Description
The Jordanian Communist Party was formed in 1993 and held its second conference in 1997, where it elected Dr. Munir Hamareneh as its Secretary General. Dr. Hamareneh was reelected to the position in 2000.
In 2001, the JCP released an open later with Communist Parties from other Middle Eastern nations calling for support of Palestine in the face of Israeli military action against Palestinian uprisings.

Leadership
Yaqoub Ziadan was one of the party's original leaders, but Dr. Munir Hamareneh has served as the party's Secretary General since he was first elected in 1997. Hussein Said Awaldallah serves as the Communication Officer for the JCP. In 1997, the party's Central Commmittee included the following members: Muhammad Shqir, Emilei Naffah, Faraj Admira, Abdul Azim Zahdeh, Muhammad Rawabdeh, Abdul Aziz Gleulat, Sami Hamarenh and Radi Zeyadat.
