50 meter LCT (Landing Craft Tank)

PIRIOU won a contract 09 July 2015 with the Royal Moroccan Navy for a 50 meter LCT (Landing Craft Tank) which would be operated in the Moroccan coastal waters. This new unit will be built in France with expected delivery mid-2016. This contract also includes training in Concarneau for the first crew to become familiar with both vessel operation and maintenance.

Pascal Piriou, CEO of the group, said: ‘This first contract with the Royal Moroccan Navy is not only a great honour but also the confirmation of our breakthrough in the field of defense and State Action at Sea. It is especially a first step in Morocco, a country where our expertise and our civilian and military products will find, I hope, opportunities’.

Designed by PIRIOU INGENIERIE this 50 meter LCT is based on a proven civilian version which PIRIOU already built in several units. Intended for the transportation of vehicles, various cargos as well as for the supply of water and fuel, the LCT 50 is fitted with two handling cranes and a bow ramp allowing loading or unloading on beach or on dock. She is specifically designed to produce and to store fresh water thanks to her capability to embark a reverse osmosis system and flexible tanks on deck.
