Northern Army [North Section Direction Party]

The shape of Hokkaido is translated into the design of the insignia of the Northern Army [North Section Direction Party]. The North section direction general section is headquartered at the Sapporo camp. The Northern Army includes the 1st artillery group (Chitose city), 1st anti-aircraft artillery group (Chitose city), 1st tank group (Eniwa city), 3rd facility group (Eniwa city) and there is a north section direction logistics party (Eniwa city) and the north section direction party directly controled unit.

The North section direction party was established in October of 1952, simultaneously with the preservation party in Sapporo. It has completed development as the Ground Self-Defense Force largest and strongest direction party.
