Hoveizeh self-propelled gun
Several pieces of military hardware were unveiled during a ceremony in Tehran on 20 April 2014 with Commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan in attendance. A 155mm Howitzer dubbed Hoveyzeh was one of the military pieces that were showcased. A howitzer is a type of artillery piece characterized by a relatively short barrel and the use of comparatively small propellant charges to propel projectiles at relatively high trajectories with a steep angle of descent.
