Iranian Military Bases
Muhammad-i-Islami, the minister of roads and urban planning, announced 25 June 2019 that, with the order of the leader of the Islamic Republic, 25 barracks will leave the cities of Iran. According to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, these barracks are receiving land outside of the cities, and their current land is allocated to construction. "The law on the sale and transfer of barracks and other places of armed forces outside the city limits" has been approved by the parliament in November 2009, but in the past ten years, its implementation has been faced with many problems in Tehran. Over the past ten years, 19 barracks have left the big cities, whose land value in the year 1397 was estimated at ten trillion tomans. Most of the displaced garrisons belong to the Army of the Islamic Republic.
