Landing Ship Tank (LST)
Landing Ship Tank (LST) Project consists of acquisition of 2 ships through local design, construction and integration in order to meet operational requirements of Turkish Naval Forces Command. The new generation Landing Ship Tank is a fast amphibious vessel of upper-intermediate size with its significant armament power. She will play the major role of power projection with transporting huge quantities of fire support elements and marines in order to conduct amphibious operations. She also acts as a flag ship and logistic support vessel. Ship is a mono-hull type vessel, all steel construction, designed to meet the speed, sea keeping maneuverability and stability requirements of Turkish Naval Forces Command. Expected service life will be 40 years.
The new generation Landing Ship Tank (SNR-LST) is a fast amphibious vessel of upper-intermediate size with its significant armament power. She will play the major role of power projection with transporting huge quantities of fire support elements and marines in order to conduct amphibious raids. She also acts as a flag ship and logistic support vessel. Istanbul SNR-LST has a significant armament capability due to needed specific amphibious operations, primarily beaching craft and military forces ashore.
The responsibility of design, construction, system integration, performance and timely delivery is the responsibility of Anadolu Deniz Insaat Kizaklari Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. HAVELSAN and ADIK Shipyard signed a contract on February 14, 2012; related to the Combat and Electronic Systems Integration, Technical Coordination and Consultancy of 2 LST (Landing Ship Tank) type naval platforms to be built for Turkish Navy.
HAVELSAN scope of responsibilities are: LST Combat and Electronic Systems Integration, Consultancy for Combat and Electronic Systems acquisitions for ADIK Shipyard, and Technical Management and Coordination of Combat and Electronic Systems. With this Project, once again HAVELSAN has proved competent not only as the Naval Combat Systems designer and integrator, but also as the reliable, competent and efficient consultant and technical manager for Naval Ship Builders of Turkey.
