LANDING CRAFT TANK (LCT) Fast Amphibious Ship
The new generation Landing Craft Tank (SNR-LCT) is a fast beaching craft of intermediate size which will play the major role of transporting mobilized vehicles and military forces in order to conduct amphibious raids. Tank Landing Craft-fast (LCT-F) is a monohull vessel, designed to perform high speed amphibious operations and to be used as a transportation ship for civilian purposes, equipped with conventional diesel propulsion system, conforming naval norms/ standards and classification rules. The Ship is a mono-hull type vessel, all steel construction, designed to meet the speed, sea keeping maneuverability and stability requirements of Turkish Naval Forces Command. The expected service life will be 30 years.
Landing Craft Tank (LCT) Project, also known as the Fast Amphibious Landing Ship or Fast Amphibious Ship project, consists of the acquisition of 8 ships through local design, construction and integration in order to meet operational requirements of Turkish Naval Forces Command. The new generation LCT will be a fast-landing craft of intermediate size, which will play a major role in rapid transportation of military vehicles and personel.
The winner of the competition to design and build eight landing craft tank (LCT) vessels for the Turkish Naval Forces exceeded the service's specifications in at least two key areas. The craft proposed by the ADIK-Furtrans partnership will have a maximum speed of 22 kt and a military lift capability of up to seven main battle tanks (MBTs) or 17 trucks. The ADIK-FURTRANS partnership won the Turkish tender of 8 LCT ships in a 100 million Euro bid. Each LCT costs 12.5mln euros. The responsibility of design, construction, system integration, performance and timely delivery is the responsibility of Anadolu Deniz Insaat Kizaklari (Anadolu Shipyard or ADIK).
