AYDIN CLASS MINE HUNTERS

With respect to the requirements of Turkish Naval Forces Command, acquisition of Mine Hunting Vessels in order to provide the secure transaction of the surface vessels, commercial vessels and submarines through harbours and bases and also to protect the sea transportation against mines. The scope covered acquisition of 6 Mine Hunting Vessels and 1 Shore Based Training Simulator through construction of the 1st Mine Hunting Vessel at Germany and the other vessels at Istanbul Naval Shipyard, Turkey.

The Project Model was Co-Production, with the German Mine Hunter Consortium for Turkish Navy with the partners Abeking&Rasmussen and Fr.Lürssen Werft. The final acceptances of the Shore Based Training Simulator and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Mine Hunting Vessels were successfully realized on 15.09.2006, 10.04.2006, 24.01.2008, 24.06.2008, 23.01.2009, 09.10.2009 and 16.09.2011 respectively.
