Special Actions Detachment / Destacamento de Accoes Especiais (DAE)
The Special Actions Detachment (DAE) conducts amphibious raids, recognitions, covert operations, destruction, removal of obstacles and other actions, including the use of explosives, either acting alone or in support of other units inserted in an amphibious operation. Intervention actions run across platforms, ships and boats in the area of national maritime jurisdiction, to the safety of passengers, crews and ships against unlawful acts of criminal nature. Perform recovery actions of people or urgent humanitarian care on platforms or places of difficult access or high risk, in the area of national maritime jurisdiction. Perform recognition, destruction and inactivation of unexploded conventional terrestrial, in training activities, training and operational intervention that you own. Perform other actions in respect of the tasks of the Navy.
As a result of missions may be called upon to perform a wide range of actions at sea and on land, involving exceptional skills and considerable risk, either in support of other forces, whether acting as an independent unit. In view of the behaviour of the DAE, its projection is by means of surface naval submarines and air of diverse nature, with resource, namely, the techniques of diving and parachuting among other recital always vector sea-land.
As a Special Operations unit endowed with great flexibility and autonomy of action, featuring high combat potential resulting from the use of specific fighting techniques to run covertly, and large equipment effectiveness and sophistication, demanding high standards of fitness, individual and collective training and dexterity. The elements that comprise this unit are only permanent staff Corps with high operating experience.
Given the nature of their actions, the admission of candidates is quite restricted and selective, so only a small percentage (5 to 10%) can join the herd of the unit. The selection is quite insightful, done through a set of evidence of physical, technical and psychological assessment and gets the following individual qualifications:

- Fast Rope/Helicast/Rappel
