339 Squadron / 339 Skvadron

Bardufoss Air Station in Tromsø operates 339 Squadron helicopter of type Bell 412SP. The main task is to provide tactical transport support to the Army. This includes air mobile operations, insertion and extraction of oppklaringsenheter and medical evacuation. To support Defence operations along the border with Russia, 339 Squadron has a helicopter based in Kirkenes. A machine is also dedicated to emergency ambulance and is on-the-clock emergency response at the main base at Bardufoss.

Support for HSTYs (Army) operations is the primary mission of the 339 squadron. 339 Squadron [ Jagerskvadron Jager Squadron ] was established in 1956 at Gardermoen Air Station scheduled with fighters of the type F-86k Sabre.
