Axios (A-464) General support ship
The P.G.Y. Axios (T.S. SAARBURG) is General Support Ship of LUNEBERG series. Built in 1968, the Greek Navy received it on 25-09-1991, under the Administration of frigates. Took its name from the largest river of MACEDONIA the DIGNITY. The river has a length of 80 km, stems from the term Skardos and flows into the Thermaikos Gulf.
The PGY Aliakmon (T.S. SAARBURG) is General Support Ship of LUNEBERG series. Built in 1969, the Hellenic Navy received the ship on 19-10-94 from the German Navy in the context of assistance to allied country. Under the Command of frigates. Took its name from the largest river of GREECE in ALIAKMWNA.
Mission of PGY Axios is logistics support to combat units Impact i.e. Gunboat, Frigates, etc, with that they need so they can operate far from land bases and facilities. To meet the Mission of the ship carrying 1,500 tonnes of various materials. The PGY Axios may support with the following:
