Halli Oil spill control vessel
The oil spill control vessel [Öljyntorjunta-alus] Halli is used for oil spill response and maintenance vessel functions. The ship has been renovated in 2010, with the renewal of the chassis technical Systems, oil collection and shipping systems and accommodation facilities. The ship is owned by the Finnish Environmental Centre, the Navy Occupation and operability.
The repairs would extend the lifetime of the oil recovery vessel by 15-20 years. The repairs to STX Finland's Helsinki Shipyard included, among other things, modernization of the ship's electricity, oil collection and shipping systems and accommodation. At the same time, the vessel's performance improved, for example, the vessel's oil collection width was increased. The Halli was at the shipyard for eight months. The ship return to operational oil recovery capability in July 2010.
Navy Commander Counter-Admiral Veli-Jukka Pennala has named the oil spill ship Halli as the goddess of the city of Parainen. the relations between the navy and Parainen have long been close. In 1975, the Navy handed over to the city of Parainen the minesweeper Kuha 22, which has already been decommissioned, as a godship.
