Z-14 10-ton military transport helicopter
In 2006 , at the booth of China Aviation Industry Corporation II of Zhuhai Airshow , a 10-ton helicopter very similar to the shape of a Black Hawk was exhibited. After subsequent reports, this 10 Ton helicopters was found to be the Z-14. Its technology adopted the production technology of Zhi-15, the wing technology, and the new engine model introduced through Zhi-15. It adopted the layout of Blackhawk, and the integrated electronic control technology of Zhi-10 to produce a new generation of composite army.
Demand for 10-ton helicopters. As of 2009, it was reported that this model had entered a stage of high development. It was believed that this type of test flight can be seen within 5 years. By then, China's helicopter will enter a stage of rapid development. The ten-ton helicopter and its supporting turboshaft W-10 engine had been approved. The WS-10 was a new engine with a power-to-weight ratio of 9.)
Chinese helicopters had shown a huge market after the 2008 Wenchuan earthquakeThe gap is, of course, due to the lack of Chinese helicopter industry and China's industrial production capacity, the helicopters required by the army cannot be provided. There is no way for the army to introduce a large number of Mi-8 improved aircraft of the former Soviet Union. Due to the performance of the helicopters of the former Soviet Union and the high-end helicopters represented by the West, especially the United States, and national leaders also determined to increase their efforts to develop China's helicopter industry.
This may represent a false start on what eventually became the Z-20. It is said that the Z-20 was developed by Changfei (hafei also participated), but both Changfei and Hafei have production lines.
