Xin Hai Feng
On 18 September 2007, the world first-class and domestic largest cutter suction dredger, named "Xin Hai Feng", commenced. The dredger, with tank volume of 16888m3, was invested by Shanghai Dredging Co., Ltd. It is 160.9m long, 27m of mould depth, 11.7m of mould breadth, and 45m of maximum dredging depth. Even at a 10m draft, the total loading capacity can amount to 25000t.
Açu Superport is located in São João da Barra, in northern Rio de Janeiro state, Brazi, which set to be the largest port in South America. Since 2008, China Communications Construction Company Limited [CCCC] Shanghai Dredging Co., Ltd. [SDC] had been involved in the dredging and land reclamation work of the Açu Superport. The project is to conduct capital dredging for channel, turning and berthing area and then conduct land reclamation work. SDC invested TSHD Xin Hai Hu (13500m³) for dredging and TSHD Xin Hai Feng (17000m³) for reclamation. Xin Hai Feng, the flag dredger of SDC, pump the 2.8 million m³ coarse sand through the 3.5km pipeline effectively to meet the urgent construction period and high quality requirement by the client.
On December 18, 2005, China Harbour Engineering (Group) Company and China Road and Bridge Corporation were merged by consolidation in a way of win-win partnership to form a new company — China Communications Construction Group (“CCCG”, a central enterprise supervised by State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council), which inherits all the businesses and assets of the above companies. On October 8, 2006, with the approval from the State Council, CCCG was overall reorganized and reformed and it initiated and founded China Communications Construction Company Limited (“CCCC” or the “Company”), with a total capital of 10,800 million shares. CCCG holds 100% stake of the Company.
CCCC owns the largest dredging fleet in the world, the largest port construction fleet in the world and the first-class large-scale long-distance shipping fleet in China with more than 800 types of vessels. Among them, there are 46 trailing suction dredgers with a total capacity of 368,300 cubic meters and 62 cutter suction dredgers, with a total installed capacity of 585,500 kilowatts.
