“Qianlong No.1” is a “Twelfth Five-Year” project relying on the China Ocean Mineral Resources Research and Development Association. It was led by Shenyang Automation Institute and jointly developed by the Institute of Acoustics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Harbin Engineering University. "Qianlong No.1" is domestically-developed deep-sea exploration equipment. Its main task is to discover and find the area where resources are located, to detect the marine elements on the seabed, and to provide a basis for evaluating resource reserves and commercial exploitation value.
China has independently developed the 6000 meter unmanned submersible cable ( AUV ) "Qianlong One" successfully completed the application of the test work. During the period, combined with the implementation of the China Ocean 29 voyage scientific research task, "Qianlong No. 1" dive 7 times in the China Ocean Association's polymetallic nodules contract area , completed 92.1 km of submarine acoustic exploration , and obtained 33 km 2 submarine fine topography. The data not only provided valuable information for identifying the distribution law of polymetallic nodules in the region, but also comprehensively tested the performance of “Qianlong No.1” during the sea trial, which was the later improvement and practical application of “Qianlong No.1”. Has accumulated a wealth of experience.
The 6,000- meter unmanned cableless submersible ( AUV ) is one of the key projects of the 12th Five-Year Plan for the Research and Development of International Sea Area Resources. It is the China Ocean Association's effective implementation of the exploration contract for polymetallic nodules signed with the International Seabed Authority. The Shenyang Institute of Automation, led by the Academy of Sciences, jointly developed by the Institute of Acoustics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Harbin Engineering University. It is the first practical 6,000- meter AUV deep-sea equipment with independent intellectual property rights in China. The main purpose of the investigation of multi -metal tuberculosis resources in the seabed is to conduct detailed surveys on seabed topography, geological structure, seabed flow field and marine environmental parameters. Marine scientific research and resource exploration and development provide the necessary scientific data.
The 6000 Mi AUV in 2011 Niandi start to develop; 2012 completed the development of body and assembly; 2013 Nian 3 -month trial on the lake was completed and officially named by the China Ocean Association "Qianlong One"; 4 Yuefen in the South China Sea to carry out preliminary sea trials The maximum dive depth is 4159 m , and the 50 m fixed-high submarine distance is 10.5 km . In October , combined with the 29th voyage of the Chinese Ocean, the first application test was carried out.
"Qianlong No.1" is 4.6 m long , 0.8 m in diameter and 1500 kg in air ; the maximum working water depth is 6000 m ; the cruising speed is 2 knots; the maximum endurance is more than 24 h ; the working sea condition is not more than 4 grades. Its technical performance indicators such as working depth, endurance and work accuracy are at the international advanced level in similar equipment.
"Qianlong No.1" mainly consists of a submersible body system, a water surface support system and an acoustic positioning system. The submersible body system is mainly responsible for underwater transportation, controlling the navigation of the submersible and ensuring the final realization of the mission, as well as completing the synchronous coordination of all the acoustic devices of the submersible and the bottom-to-bottom speed measurement, collision avoidance ranging, submarine micro-topography, Fine survey of landforms, judgment of bottom quality, etc. The surface support system is mainly responsible for the deployment and recovery of the submersibles, system technical inspection, mission setting, data post-processing, etc., and is responsible for the safety of the installation, fixation and transportation of the submersibles on the mother ship. The acoustic positioning system is responsible for the underwater positioning and water monitoring of the submersible during the underwater mission.
The "Qianlong No. 1" application test is part of the investigation of the 29th voyage of the Chinese Ocean , with the goal of actual detection and application, and comprehensive testing of the performance of "Qianlong No.1". The test area is a detailed exploration area in the contract area of polymetallic nodules in the Eastern Pacific. The application test lasted for 12 days, and a total of 7 submerged trials and actual exploration operations were carried out. The comprehensive survey line of near-sea acoustics and hydrology was completed 92.1 km , and the seabed sounding side scan data of about 33 km2 was obtained. Shallow stratigraphic profile data and corresponding physical ocean data such as temperature and salt.
In addition to obtaining this valuable data, the application test also comprehensively examined the function of the submersible body and the technical performance of the detection device. First, "Qianlong No.1" achieved breakthroughs in technical difficulties such as overall integration technology, deployment and recycling technology, deep sea navigation and positioning monitoring technology, high intelligent control technology, deep sea exploration technology, and multi-acoustic equipment coordination technology. The record of creating a continuous working time of China's deep-sea AUV shows that the development work has taken a solid step toward productization. Second, the data obtained by the sea trial is of good quality. These data will provide valuable for studying the distribution law of small-scale polymetallic nodules. The fine topographic data shows the advantages of the submarine fine survey operation unique to “Qianlong No.1”. The third is the ability to successfully deploy and recycle the submersible under the sea conditions of 4th grade and below. A safe, efficient and standardized operation mode has laid a good foundation for the comprehensive application of the “Shenlong No.1” in the deep ocean.
