Chengdu Lingchuan Special Industry Co., Ltd. is a key national security unit. It has a profound history and culture and is the cradle of China's red mortars. Chengdu Lingchuan Special Industry Co., Ltd. was founded in 1965. The military code was "167 Factory". Because it was the first company in Sichuan by the ordnance industry, the postal code was "6501 mailbox". The predecessor of the factory was the Eighth Route Army General Factory of the War of Defense of Huangyadong during the Anti-Japanese War. In December 1951, Huangyadong Ordnance Factory moved from Shanxi to Nanjing and merged with Nanjing Ordnance Factory to become Nanjing Chenguang Machinery Factory (Factory 307).

In 1965, the state moved the 100mm mortar production line of Nanjing 307 Factory to Qingping Town, Hechuan, Chongqing to establish a state-owned Lingchuan Machinery Factory, which was subordinate to the Fifth Ministry of Machinery Industry. "Lingchuan" in the Lingchuan plant is quite particular, and is the collective name of "Nanjing, Jinling" and "Sichuan, Hechuan".

Lingchuan Plant became the first factory to be completed and put into production in the third-line construction of conventional weapons. The design, infrastructure, relocation, production and production of products were completed in the year the plant was established. For more than ten years, the factory's military products won many honors in the self-defense counterattacks in the northern and southern frontiers and the Xisha in the South China Sea. In the mid-1980s, the factory's products have been equipped with land, navy and air forces.

In the early 1980s, after the Lingchuan plant was transferred to civilians, the "Conch" brand series of deep well rod pumps developed and produced won the Sichuan Provincial and Ministerial High-quality Products Gold and Silver Awards. After 1986, the factory mainly produced automotive wheels, mufflers, fuel tanks, automotive meters and other products.

At the end of 2000, the new plant of Lingchuan Plant was completed and moved to Longquanyi District, Chengdu, covering an area of more than 530 acres. The plant was renamed "Chengdu Lingchuan Machinery Plant". Passed the national acceptance in 2002. Later, the company was restructured into Chengdu Lingchuan Special Industry Co., Ltd. and became a large-scale second-class state-owned enterprise directly under the China North Industries Group Corporation.
