Iª Brigada Aérea / 1st Air Brigade
With headquarters in Base air "Los Condores", in Iquique, the 1st air Brigade is responsible for controlling the airspace between the Northern political boundary and the Loa River. Also running aerotacticas of air defense operations and provided administrative and logistical support. Similarly, it is responsible for the service's search and air rescue that coordinates the activities of its kind in the area.This unit is the birthplace of pilots of combat of the institution. Through the tactical school of flight by instruments, selected for this specialty, students learn the techniques and tactics of aerial combat. Also, within its activities is support to locations away from its jurisdictional area, turn to cooperate in situations of emergencies and natural disasters.The 1st Aviation Brigade was the seat of the combined exercise "Salitre 2004", the largest in its kind carried out in the country and which brought to the air forces of Argentina, Brazil, Chile and United States.

Vª Brigada Aérea / 5th Air Brigade
With headquarters seated in Base air "Cerro Moreno", in Antofagasta, the fifth air Brigade is responsible for controlling the airspace between the Loa River and Vallenar. Also running aerotacticas of air defense operations and provided administrative and logistical support. Similarly, it is responsible for the service's search and air rescue that coordinates the activities of its kind in the area. Through its aviation groups and front-line aircraft, this unit is characterized by maintaining a constant aereo-tactical training in dissimilar missions (with aircraft of different categories). Also, within the activities of this Brigade are supported, through different operating at locations away from their jurisdictional area, turn to cooperate in situations of emergencies and natural disasters. In 2009 the fifth air Brigade hosted the combined exercise "Salitre II", which brought to the air forces of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, France and United States. Similarly, Bolivia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Mexico acted as observer countries.

With its headquarters set in Pudahuel, Santiago, the second air Brigade is responsible for controlling airspace between Los Angeles and Vallenar. Also running aerotacticas of air defense operations and provided administrative and logistical support. Similarly, it is responsible for the service's search and air rescue that coordinates the activities of its kind in the area.The main task of this unit is institutional strategic airlift, as well as the execution of air operations of rescue and aid the community at the national and international level. On the other hand, is both helicopter pilots school and school tactic of defences. It also has the responsibility for training the special forces of the institution.

IIIª Brigada Aérea / 3rd Air Brigade
With headquarters seated in Air Base "El Tepual" in Puerto Montt, the third air Brigade is responsible for controlling airspace between Los Angeles and ice field. Also running aerotacticas of air defense operations and provided administrative and logistical support. Similarly, it is responsible for the service's search and air rescue that coordinates the activities of its kind in the area.
As main characteristic, it is noteworthy that this unit headquarters of the school of instrument flight, where the official air branch graduated from the aviation school acquire the tools necessary to fly without visual references. After this process, they are selected for the specialties of fighting, helicopters or transport. Those who are chosen in the latter remain in the unit to continue with his training in the school tactic multiengine. It should be noted that the third air Brigade meets an important work of integration and support to isolated sectors, which are constantly affected by the geographic isolation and inclement weather typical of this area. In the year 2010 it conducted exercise "Cooperation I", which brought together the countries members of the system of cooperation of the American air force. The activity aimed to standardize procedures and define a methodology of action in the event of disasters. More than two thousand troops from 13 countries participated in the activity.

IVª Brigada Aérea / 4th Air Brigade
With its headquarters situated in the "Chabunco" Air Base in Punta Arenas, the fourth air Brigade is responsible for controlling airspace between the ice field and the South Pole. It also runs aerotacticas of air defense operations and provided administrative and logistical support. Similarly, it is responsible for the service's search and air rescue that coordinates the activities in the area. As a main feature, note that in this unit are monitored activities at the airbase Antarctic "Presidente Eduardo Frei Montalva", the gateway for scientific expeditions or international bases settled in the white continent.
