Learjet 85

By far the largest Learjet ever developed, the revolutionary Bombardier Learjet 85 introduces the next generation of performance, comfort and technology in a midsize business jet. Its sleek, clean-sheet design features the largest Learjet cabin yet. Delivering legendary Learjet agility and performance, its all-composite structure will be the first-ever certified for a business jet under Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 25. Flexjet is the launch customer for the Learjet 85 and Flexjet owners will be the first to own this phenomenal aircraft.

The Learjet 85 introduces the next generation of performance, comfort and technology in an aircraft positioned between the Learjet 60XR and the Challenger 300 business jet. This aircraft is the next generation in performance, comfort and technology. The Learjet 85 provides a larger, more comfortable cabin than today's jets in the midsize category and features a true double-club arrangement. The Learjet 85 aircraft features state-of-the-art flight deck design and technologies led by the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics suite. Next-generation Pratt & Whitney Canada PW307B engines will provide optimum performance and operating economics while maintaining low noise and emission levels.

Inside, the Learjet 85 boasts more interior space than any existing midsize aircraft, with a standup, walk-around cabin built to accommodate eight passengers in double-club comfort. Composite construction increases passenger comfort, imparting excellent cabin acoustics for a quiet ride and allowing optimum window placement for better viewing and more natural light. The Learjet 85 features 47 percent more cabin space than the Learjet 60 XR. And with its larger, 130-cubic-foot baggage compartment, passengers leave nothing behind.

It's a clean-sheet design and features the first all-composite airframe certified for a business jet under Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 25. The lightweight carbon fiber technology reduces overall weight and provides superior performance and aerodynamics, resulting in greater fuel economy. Not to mention, you'll get to your destination faster. Due to the durability of this advanced material, scheduled maintenance is reduced while service life is extended, giving more flexibility thanks to less scheduled and unscheduled maintenance downtime. Composite construction also allows for a narrower wall structure, which results in increased cabin volume. This gives the Learjet 85 class-leading interior space with a true stand-up cabin. So passengers travel more comfortably and arrive at their destination more refreshed. Performance is also enhanced by this revolutionary material and manufacturing process.

In addition to legendary Learjet speed and altitude capability, the Learjet 85 also boasts a transcontinental range of 3,450-statute-miles, which far exceeds many other midsize aircraft, helping passengers avoid detours and delays for fuel stops. The 3,450-statute mile range on the Learjet 85 gives it transatlantic capability. Fly nonstop across the country or New York to London - beyond the reach of other midsize jets.

Flexjet is the launch customer for the Learjet 85. Flexjet expected to begin taking delivery of the first seven Learjet 85 aircraft in the fourth quarter, 2012. Flexjet is part of Bombardier Aerospace, which provides the most comprehensive range of private jet travel and ownership solutions - from on-demand charter to fractional ownership to ownership of the entire aircraft. Additionally, Bombardier is the global leader in the design and manufacturing of innovative aviation products, and provides services for the regional, business and amphibious aircraft markets.
