The Industry of War Material of Brazil [Indústria de Material Bélico do Brasil - IMBEL], is a Public company tied with the Ministry of the Army. It is one of the biggest industries of South America, and is a manufacturer of defense materials and systems. The fourth largest Brazilian arms company, the War Matériel Industry (Indústria de Material Bélico do Brasil--Imbel), was established on July 14, 1975, to unify the army's seven ordnance and ammunition factories.
