Vessel Type B TCV
Western Marine will build two tank carriers (LCTs) for the Bangladesh Army. An agreement was signed July 4, 2018 between the Army and the Western Marine Shipyard in this regard. Col. Chowdhury Fazle Ali, Deputy Director Purchase (Army Wing-1) of the Ministry of Defense and Md. Sakhawat Hossain, Managing Director of Western Marine Shipyard signed the agreement on behalf of the Bangladesh Army.
To carry the personnel's of an Infantry Coy / Artillery Battery / Engineer Field Company during training, operation and administrative duties in the inland water and Coastal areas. The minimum troop carrying capacity would be 200 Persons. The vessel length should be a Minimum of 55 meters, with a breadth of a minimum of 10 meters. Operatable in Sea state 4, the Ship Builder's Certificate to be submitted with detailed stability calculation based on IMO. Load Carrying Capacity a Minimum of 150 Tons.
Accommodations include 01 x VIP cabins, in upper deck with required facilities (Cabins shall be equipped with single tier bunk, Bed side drawers, Locker, Reading table with lamp and Chair, Sofa with cenlre table, Dining table and Chair, Oscillating fan, Shoe rack, Mirror, Mattress, Bed covers and Pillows etc. Other necessary electronic appliances like TV & mini fridge, etc. 04 Rooms (2x single room & 2x double room) with required facilities (Single tier bunk, Bed side drawers, Locker, Reading table with lamp and Chair, Oscillating fan, Shoe rack, Mirror, Mattress, Bed covers and Pillows etc. 2 JCOs Cabin for OBx JCOs, with (Single tier bunks, Double locker, Table with armless chairs, Shoe rack, Mirrors, Oscillating fans, Mattress, Bed cover and Pillows etc). Cabins for 176 x Ors and 08 x Crews with two tier bunks, Shoe racks under the bunk, Double lockers, Mattress, Bed cover and Pillows, Mirrors, Oscillating fans etc
Armament includes 2 x 14.5mm Anti-Aircraft (MMG) Gun Post at bow and stern side.
