M579 Fitter Repair Vehicle

The M579 Fitter Repair Vehicle version of the M113 features the M113 chassis with crane and large door instead of personel door. FMC produces several types of repair and recovery vehicles based on the M113 and sells them to countries outside the US. Most of these vehicles include a crane attachment to the left side of the roof and many have kits for a rear spade and internal winch ("recovery" and "fitters/recovery") which takes up much of the interior compartment. They have added additional vehicle parts/tools storage located both inside and out. Since most of the tool and equipment storage is added at the unit level, the interior (as well as exterior) storage will vary from vehicle to vehicle.
