Margaret Tutwiler

Margaret Tutwiler began her career working in President Gerald R. Ford's re-election office for the 1976 election.
During the Reagan Administration Ms. Tutwiler served as an assistant to Chief of Staff James A. Baker III from 1981 until 1985 as well as Deputy Assistant to the President for Political Affairs. From 1985 to 1989 she served as the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the U.S. Treasury Department.
From 1989 to Ms. Tutwiler served as Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs and State Department Spokesman. During her tenure at the State Department she traveled extensively in the Middle East and North Africa, dealing with regional issues.
