July 2005 (?)
Operation Thunder, a Task Force Baghdad operation, is believed to have started in July 2005. As of late September 2005 the Baghdad located operation still appeared to be ongoing, with Coalition and Iraqi Security Forces conducting 24-hour raids meant to expose weapons caches, improvised explosive device factories and insurgents.
Operation Thunder Cat was a sub-Operation of Operation Thunder.
Operation Thunder resulted in at least one weapons cache being found in the Karkh region of Baghdad. This included mortars, RPGs, RPG armor-piercing rounds, anti-coalition propaganda, small arms and small-arms ammunition. Two anti-Iraqi force personnel were also detained in the operation.
