Operation Fontana
April 2-6, 2005
Operation Fontana was carried out throughout the Babil and Wasit provinces from April 2 to April 11, 2005. These provinces fall under the area of responsibility of Multinational Division Central-South's (MND CS).
Operation Fontana's mission was to eliminate places where terrorists trained to carry out their activities. MND CS sections and sub-units took part in the operation being supported by U.S. units.
According to MNF-I/MNC-I, suspected terrorists were detained and a weapons and ammunition cache was discovered.
