Operation Final Cut

The 4th Infantry Division, Iraqi Civil Defense Corps, and Iraqi Police launched Operation Final Cut on Januray 28, 2004. This operation was designed to capture or eliminate people suspected of anti-coalition activity in the Bayji area.
By February 13, 2004 at least 35 people had been captured and large caches of weapons had been seized. Among the seized items included over 200 assault rifles, numerous small arms, and IED making materials. More than 600 homes had been searched as well. At least three Iraqis were killed in the operation when they refused to cooperate and tried to fire on coalition forces.
