Following Operation Panthers, Operation Bruins contined the effort to disrupt insurgent activity in Ramadi. The Operation consisted of 150 Iraqi Army soldiers and 300 Marines and Soldiers from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Marine Division.

Starting on November 19, 2005, the troops began conducting cordon and searches in an attempt to uncover weapons caches. Searches on November 20th yeilded plastic explosives, artillery and mortar shells, fuses, and both remote and pressure sensitive detonators.

Marines came under attack when a roadside bomb detonated in a column of Humvees carrying out combat patrols. There were no casualties or damage reported from the incident.

In a seperate attack, a single rocket-propelled grenade was fired at Marines on patrol. The grenade was said to have caused no casualties and only limited damage.

One uncovered cache contained 21 rocket launchers, 43 rounds of RPG ammunition, 23 medium machine guns, 3 sniper rifles, thousands of rounds of ammunition and 32 black ski masks.
