Kru-Liberian War of 1915
In 1915, President Woodrow Wilson, sent the USS Chester [loaded with 500 rifles and 250,000 rounds of ammo] to assist the Liberian Government when war with the Kru people began over the hut tax, and the forced recruitment of indigenous-Kru labor by the Liberian Government.
