Joint Task Force Exercise (JTFEX) 03-2

JTFEX 03-2, involving the USS Theodore Roosevelt and its carrier battle group was cancelled as events in Iraq required the TR Battle Group to be sent to the region.

Train USJFCOM Component Forces in selected Tactical Joint Interoperability Tasks, with emphasis on tactical applications.

• Identify operational deficiencies in joint operations (doctrine, organization, training, leader development, and material).
• Develop and train to Time Sensitive Targeting Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures

On order, JTF950 deploys to the GOS JOA to deter KORONAN aggression, to assist and support KARTUNAN Armed Forces in the defense of KARTUNA, and to enforce UNSCRs. If deterrence fails, defeat KORONAN Armed Forces and restore KARTUNA's territorial integrity in order to maintain stability in the GOS region.

• KORONA: Offensive combat forces
• KARTUNA: Effective military capability in the Khemis province
• JTF 950: Ability to project credible combat power into Kartuna
• FLORIDA: Sea lines of communication (SLOC) interdiction and WMD employment capability

  CJTF 950 Objectives

• Deter KORONAN aggression
• Conduct swift and secure build-up of forces in theater to establish early credible military presence and ability to monitor the JOA
• Maintain effective force protection
• Enforce all relevant UNSCRs (embargo, NFZ)
• Dominate the JOA through presence, information operations and the demonstrated capability for successful offensive military operations
• If deterrence fails, destroy the KORONAN ability to project and sustain offensive military power into KARTUNA
• Seamlessly hand-over a secure environment to a designated follow-on force

  Desired End State

• KARTUNA territory maintained and/or restored at the internationally recognized border
• KARTUNA and follow-on forces are capable of successfully defending against potential renewed KORONAN aggression
• All UNSCRs effectively enforced
• Successful hand-over of responsibilities to follow-on force/authority
