1911 Cuban Pacification Campaign

The 2d Regiment, 1st Provisional Brigade was formed at Philadelphia in March 1911. The regiment, designed for duty in Cuba, when revolt among the Negroes threatened United States interests, boarded the USS DIXIE on 9 March and sailed for Guantanamo Bay. Within three months, order was restored on the island, and in June, the 2d returned to the United States, arriving at Philadelphia on the 14th, when it disbanded.
