Cascade Warrior
Exercise CASCADE WARRIOR was conducted on 16 September 2000. CASCADE WARRIOR was a JTF level CPX conducted by I Corps. The scenario was templated over the map of the Philippines. The Republic of Blue, a US allied country, which was already dealing with an insurgency within its borders, was invaded by a hostile neighboring country. The enemy order of battle was based on the Yugoslavian Army (heavy mechanized). I Corps was the command element of the JTF that was called in to help Blue. I Corps is comprised of 70% Reserve and Na-tional Guard units from western and mid-western states. This was the first time that the subordinate staffs were collocated with I Corps HQ during a CPX. The emphasis of the CPX was battle rhythm, staff planning and coordination, force fires and aviation C2.
