of all arms and means is a basic consideration."
1. The NTC Analysis Division of the Center for Army Lessons Learned (CALL) focused primarily on the command and control system for this newsletter. These lessons are drawn from the long-term observations of the observer controllers of the NTC Operations Group, assessment by CATA's NTC Observation Division, and observations made by TRADOC subject matter experts during recent NTC rotations.
2. In addition to describing the tactics, techniques and procedures which have proven successful, two articles describe emerging doctrine which is being incorporated into revisions to doctrinal manuals. These articles discuss offensive Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield (IPB) for the task force and displacement of the combat trains during offensive operations.
3. In its effort to "get the word out" to the Army, CATA provides these lessons learned for your use and dissemination. If your unit has identified any combat relevant lessons at the NTC or any other training exercise, share them with the Army by contacting CALL at AV 552-2255/2438.
