1.1.1 Position/Reposition Forces (Units and Equipment)

* Ground Check Points (GCP). [Command and Control]:

Technique: Using GCPs in the Zone of Separation (ZOS) will improve aviation operations in the following areas:

- reaction time
- reference
- orientation for area and zone reconnaissance
- MEDEVAC
- attack missions
- CSS missions

1.1.3 Navigate

* Mounted and dismounted land navigation. [Combat Service Support]:

PROBLEM: Leaders, from company commander to squad leader, are weak in mounted and dismounted land navigation.

Technique: Train on land navigation fundamentals at Home Station. Incorporate route reconnaissance and rehearsal into all phases of an operation. Practice conducting night recons.
