ABOUT THIS PUBLICATION

Purpose

The primary purpose of the CALL Bulletin is to disseminate combat relevant lessons learned to the Total Army (active and reserve forces) on a "need to know" basis. Focusing on specific strengths and weaknesses in doctrine, training, organization, and material observed in exercises and operations, the CALL Bulletin highlights tactics, techniques, and procedures. It summarizes lessons learned and provides the field with issues being developed and potential lessons learned.

Call Outs

Lessons learned are written as summaries. CALL OUTS sidelining each lesson provide the lesson topic and help to quickly locate the lesson.

Feedback

To assist us in improving the CALL Bulletin and to increase our sources for lessons learned, reader feedback is needed. For questions about the Army Lessons Learned System, potential lessons learned, or any other lessons learned information, CALL us.

Reproduction

Local reproduction of this bulletin and all CALL products is authorized and highly encouraged.

The Center for Army Lessons Learned (CALL) is a subordinate directorate of the Combined Arms Training Activity at the Combined Arms Center, Ft. Leavenworth, KS. CALL's mission is to provide combat relevant lessons learned to the Total Army (Active and Reserve Components). This CALL Bulletin is one of many CALL products designed to fulfill that mission. To be of value, lessons learned must be disseminated. By publishing these lessons learned, we hope that soldiers, units, and ultimately the entire Army will benefit. By remembering the past, we will not be condemned to repeat it.

The CALL Bulletin is a functional bulletin published under the authority of AR 310-2, para 4-28. It is used to publish official information concerning lessons learned in the conduct of military operations. It is published and distributed by CALL on a need-to-know basis to the active and reserve forces. Comments for improving this publication should be submitted on DA Form 2028 to: Commander, Combined Arms Training Activity, ATTN: ATZL-TAL (CALL BULLETIN), Fort Leavenworth, KS 66027-7000, or call AUTOVON 552-CALL.

Unless otherwise stated, whenever the masculine or feminine gender is used, both are intended.
