TO BRIGADE COMMANDER

  • What are the tasks and purposes by phase?

  • Do you agree with the S2's analysis of the enemy? (If not - describe what you believe the enemy will do.)

  • What key terrain is in your sector?

  • What are the enemy decisive points and decision points in sector/zone?

  • What are the graphic control measures used to control fires?

  • Who is your main effort?

  • How is it weighed?
    • Priority of fires?
    • Additional assets?
    • Smaller sectors?

  • What is the fire support plan?
    • Colt team(s) employment?
    • ETAC employment?

  • What is the obstacle plan and what/where are your battalion directed obstacles?

  • Do you have any resupply problems?

  • If the brigade's deception plan works, how does it impact on you?

  • What coordination have you conducted with adjacent units?

  • Where is the battalion's mortar platoon located?

  • What is its mission?

  • What is the task and purpose for the scouts?

  • Did you wargame the enemy reserve commitment?

  • Describe your understanding of the brigade level assets deployed in your sector/zone.

  • What element has responsibility for brigade directed obstacles in your sector?

  • What is the counter-attack plan?

  • What is the plan and priorities for reorganization (regeneration/reconstitution if required)?
One may want to give guidance concerning graphics to be displayed; i.e., enemy avenues of approach into sector, company positions, obstacle plan, fire support plan (to include mortars), TOC and Reserve locations, and location of brigade assets in sector (not meant to be all-inclusive).
