Operation Restore Democracy

Manning the rail of USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) are sailors from the ship and soldiers of the U.S. Army. The 1,800 Army troops and their military hardware are from the elite 10th Mountain Division based at Fort Drum, N.Y. The ship, its crew and the soldiers departed Norfolk Naval Base, Va. on the morning of September 14, 1994 enroute to the Caribbean in support of Operation Support Democracy.
