Appendix C

Army Transportation Units

This appendix portrays the different types of transportation involved in moving the force. However, the movement function goes well beyond the physical movement of personnel and materiel. It involves all the elements of moving forces and their logistics requirements. Some of the components of movements are the physical transportation modes and the process of planning and controlling movements. The allocation of movement assets is also a critical concern.
The annexes (below) in this appendix depict those Army organizations involved with moving personnel and materiel through the operational and tactical levels of war.
TOE are programmed to receive a cyclic review and updated every three years. In keeping with the program to continually update TOE, the Transportation Corps is developing new concepts for rail, movement control, and terminal operations.
