During vehicle maintenance, fuels, oils, coolants, or other fluids may be spilled. Take simple precautions, such as placing drip pans, diapers, or absorbents under vehicles to prevent or reduce pollution.

Risks can be reduced by conducting off-road driving only in authorized areas, crossing streams only at approved points, filling in fighting positions before leaving an area, and using camouflage netting instead of branches and shrubs.
