Spanish Government condemns latest bombings against Beirut and other areas of Lebanon
Spain - Ministry of Foreign Affairs
PRESS STATEMENT 118
25 Nov 25
The Spanish Government condemns the Israeli army's bombings against Beirut and other areas of the country, as well as the repeated attacks against UNIFIL positions, the latest of which threatened the physical integrity of the Spanish contingent, a series of actions that represent a serious escalation.
The Spanish Government also expresses its deep concern at Israel's unilateral decision to build a wall within Lebanese territory, violating the demarcation line - the Blue Line - defined by the United Nations, and thereby violating Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Spanish Government urges Israel to comply with its obligations under international law and with the ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024. The best guarantee of security and lasting peace in the Middle East is the effective implementation of the two-State solution.
Spain reiterates its commitment to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and stability of Lebanon and to full compliance with Security Council resolution 1701, and reaffirms its support for the mandate of UNIFIL, whose work is essential to the achievement of these objectives.
