Press release on the presidential election in Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

25 November 2025 13:47
1965-25-11-2025

Russia is pleased to note that the November 23 presidential election in Republika Srpska, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was held in a peaceful and democratic environment. Victory in the election went to Sinisa Karan, candidate of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats.

Despite the external forces' attempts to provoke political destabilisation in Republika Srpska by means of flagrant abuse of the judicial and electoral institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the illegal termination of Serbian leader Milorad Dodik's mandate, the citizens of that entity rose against the distortion of their will and reaffirmed their strong support for the patriotic policy of Milorad Dodik's team.

Russia shares the resolve of the entity's leadership, in particular, President-Elect of Republika Srpska Sinisa Karan, to continue to promote strategic partnership with our country. Russia believes that this policy fully meets the interests of the peoples of the Russian Federation and Republika Srpska.
