MANILA -- The Philippine Army (PA) has taken a step to further boost the financial literacy of its personnel.
In a statement on Wednesday, PA spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala said this is in line with PA chief Lt. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete's efforts to enhance the troops' well-being as part of human capital development.
For this, the PA has partnered with Banco de Oro (BDO) Foundation to launch a program called BDO Network Financial Wellness Caravan.
"The BDO Network Bank Financial Wellness Caravan reinforced financial educational objectives and empowered military personnel to make sound personal and professional financial decisions," Dema-ala said.
The program was launched last week at the PA headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Representatives from the BDO Network Bank, Inc., led by Salary Loans head Alberto Quiogue, also rendered a courtesy call on PA vice commander Maj. Gen. Efren Morados to reaffirm the strong partnership between the two organizations and discuss future shared initiatives.
"The PA leadership prioritizes holistic development including the financial literacy and stability of Army personnel, the organization's greatest strength and asset," Dema-ala said. (PNA)
