During a joint press briefing with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, following their talks, Chaponda reiterated his country's full support for the Moroccan Autonomy Plan, which he described as "the only credible, serious and realistic solution" to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
In this regard, he expressed his country's "great satisfaction" with the "historic" adoption of Resolution 2797 by the United Nations Security Council, which, within the framework of Morocco's sovereignty, consolidates the autonomy Initiative as "the only serious, credible and sustainable basis" for achieving a political solution to the fabricated dispute over the Sahara.
Chaponda also praised the growing international consensus, as well as the momentum driven by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in support of the Autonomy Plan and Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara.
He further welcomed the longstanding relations between Morocco and Malawi, expressing his gratitude for the consistent support his country receives from the Kingdom.
