Bern, 10.11.2025 -- armasuisse and the manufacturer Elbit Systems Ltd have signed an addendum to the contract for the reconnaissance drone system 15 (ADS 15). Amongst other things, this also includes the services for the three functionalities not to be implemented.
Following an in-depth analysis, the DDPS decided on 4 September 2025 to continue the project ADS 15 with adjusted requirements. Three functionalities will not be implemented - specifically, the automatic backup system DAA, the system for GPS-independent starts and landings and the deicing system.
The details of the contract addendum were drawn up during a working visit by National Armaments Director Urs Loher to the manufacturer Elbit Systems Ltd on 5 November 2025 in Israel and the respective agreement was signed by both parties.
As compensation for the reduced system functions, Elbit Systems Ltd will bear the fixed costs of the service contract for nine years during the period from 2024 to 2032. This service contract ensures the technical system support required for operating the ADS 15. The respective services will be provided in Switzerland.
Procurement is thus able to continue the work on a clear contractual basis and the project can be brought to a conclusion.
