Officials have said the Israeli regime left 288,000 Palestinian families homeless in its trail of destruction across the Gaza Strip.

An estimated 268,000 Palestinian houses have been destroyed by the Israeli war, Gaza's Government Media Office announced on Thursday.

The Media Office said 288,000 Gaza families have been left homeless due to losing their homes in the Israeli assault. It added that there is presently a "severe housing crisis" in Gaza due to the shortage of homes.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) says Palestinians face the worst displacement in decades.

UNRWA estimates that around 81 percent of all structures in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed,

Meantime, Israeli forces continue to demolish Palestinian homes in Gaza despite the truce between the fighting sides.

Since October 2023, Israeli shelling and airstrikes have continued to level Palestinian homes, hospitals, and water networks all across Gaza, leaving the Palestinian territories' infrastructure in ruins.

Also, Palestinians in Gaza still face severe shortages of food, water, medicine, and other essential supplies due to Israeli forces keeping crossings closed and imposing restrictions on what enters the Strip.

Gaza's Health Ministry puts the death toll of the Israeli genocidal war at over 68,875.

The US-brokered ceasefire came into effect on 10 October. However, the Israelis have committed more than 200 violations of the ceasefire agreement, according to the director of Gaza's Government Media Office.
