Press release No. 206
05.11.2025

The working sessions of the NATO-Industry Forum 2025 began on Wednesday, November 5th, in Bucharest, an event organized in Romania by the Allied Command Transformation (ACT) and the Defence Industry, Innovation and Armaments Division of the NATO HQ International Staff, with the support of the Ministry of National Defence.

In the opening of the event, Minister of National Defence, Liviu-Ionuț Moșteanu, addressed the guests, emphasizing, once again, the complex context and current security challenges, as well as the importance of such meetings when exploring solutions regarding the security and stability of our societies and the future of the Alliance.

"Allies face simultaneous threats and challenges posed to security, including a war in Europe, increased strategic competition, terrorism, and persistent instability in its vicinity," Minister Moșteanu stated.

In this context, Romania's vision is focused on three directions, namely: deterrence, defence industry and supporting Ukraine - this state's fight also meaning Europe's fight for freedom, Minister Moșteanu declared.

"The defence industry is now part of deterrence. Manufacturing lines are the new frontiers. Romania has embraced this transformation and, for this reason, we are revitalizing our defence industry," the defence minister said.

Allies' increased investments in defence will result into a significant support for the overall effort to consolidate forces and capabilities in order to achieve a credible deterrence and defence posture, the Romanian official concluded.
