The Israeli military has carried out a new round of aerial attacks in different parts of the Gaza Strip despite a fragile ceasefire agreement between the occupying regime and the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement, which went into effect in early October.
Local sources said Israeli warplanes targeted the eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City early on Monday morning.
There were no immediate reports on possible casualties and the extent of damage caused following the attacks.
The sources added that powerful explosions were heard east of Gaza City, where Israeli forces were demolishing residential buildings.
Israeli air strikes were also reported from the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
Additionally, Israeli artillery shelling targeted the eastern flank of Deir el-Balah city in the central Gaza Strip, though no reports about casualties were quickly available.
On Sunday, Israeli forces carried out extensive demolitions in Gaza City and Khan Younis.
The developments come as the death toll in the besieged coastal sliver has risen to 236 since the ceasefire agreement was enacted on October 10.
Director of the government media office in Gaza, Ismail al-Thawabta, said the Israeli army committed 194 violations of the accord.
The violations included the army crossing the so-called "yellow line" marking the ceasefire boundary, preventing the entry of medicines, medical supplies, displacement tents, and mobile homes, in addition to the continuation of shooting, shelling, and incursions.
According to a statement issued by the Gaza government media office on Saturday, from October 10 until the end of the same month, only 3,203 trucks entered out of the 13,200 trucks that were supposed to enter, at a rate of 600 trucks per day, with a compliance rate of no more than 24%.
Settlers, Israeli forces target Palestinians in West Bank
Meanwhile, illegal Israeli settlers have burned a vehicle during an attack south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
The official Palestinian news agency WAFA also reported that a Palestinian man, identified as Ahmed Rabhi al-Atrash, was shot dead by an Israeli settler north of al-Khalil.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) stated that Israeli occupation forces prevented its crews from reaching the wounded young man.
Furthermore, the Palestinian Health Ministry said 17-year-old Jamil Atef Hanani was shot dead by Israeli forces in the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, in the northern area of the occupied West Bank.
Israeli forces also conducted raids across the West Bank on Sunday night and early on Monday, and abducted several Palestinians.
The town of Allar, north of Tulkarm, as well as the villages near Qalqilya, Ramallah, northeast of al-Quds, and east of Bethlehem, were targeted in the overnight offensives.
Since the onset of Israel's genocidal war in the Gaza Strip in October 2023, Israeli settler and military attacks have killed more than 1,000 Palestinians and wounded more than 10,000 others, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
According to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Palestinian property has been targeted over 2,400 times in the past two years, resulting in the displacement of at least 3,055 individuals.
In July 2024, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled that Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory is illegal and urged the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East al-Quds.
