A spokesperson of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command said on Saturday that the Philippines, in collusion with extraterritorial nations, organized a so-called "joint patrol" in the South China Sea from October 30 to 31, seriously undermining regional peace and stability.

The development once again proves that the Philippines is the troublemaker in the South China Sea issue and a saboteur of regional stability, Tian Junli, spokesperson of the PLA Southern Theater Command said.

The PLA Southern Theater Command has organized forces to closely monitor the situation, with all such disruptive and sensational activities under full control. The troops of the theater command remain on high alert and will resolutely safeguard China's national sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, said Tian.
