The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement has strongly condemned the killing of three Palestinian men by Israeli occupation forces during a pre-dawn raid on the village of Kafr Qud, west of Jenin, in the occupied West Bank.

In a statement on Tuesday, the group said the use of snipers and aerial bombardment in the operation "is but a new link in a continuous chain of war crimes and organized abuse practiced by the occupation authorities against our defenseless people in the occupied West Bank."

According to local sources, Israeli troops stormed the village at dawn, surrounding an agricultural site and opened fire on three young men, killing them on the spot.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the victims as Abdullah Muhammad Omar Jalmana (27), Qais Ibrahim Muhammad al-Baytawi (21), and Ahmed Azmi Arif Nashti (29).

Islamic Jihad said that the occupying forces blocked ambulances from reaching the victims and later seized the bodies in an act of in a blatant violation of all international and humanitarian agreements.

"The deployment of sniper rifles and airstrikes in civilian-populated areas represents a dangerous escalation that underscores the extreme brutality and criminality of the occupying army," the resistance group stated.

The statement added that the occupation is committing this crime as part of a systematic campaign of incursions, raids, and demolitions carried out across the West Bank.

Over the past few months alone, Israeli forces have demolished more than 1,000 homes in the refugee camps of Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nour Shams, forcibly displacing over 25,000 Palestinians and reducing entire neighborhoods to rubble.

"While we warn of the danger posed by the occupation's policies and plans to the security of our people and the region, we affirm that these crimes will only strengthen our commitment to the path of resistance in defense of our people and our land," the statement concluded.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that since October 7, 2023, when Israel launched its genocidal war on Gaza, killing at least 68,000 Palestinians and wounding 170,000, Israeli military and settler attacks have claimed the lives of over 1,000 Palestinians and injured more than 10,000 in the occupied West Bank alone.
