Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, held talks on Wednesday in New York with the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Annalena Baerbock.

During this meeting, held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the General Assembly, the two parties discussed Morocco's "precious" contributions to the United Nations, in particular its continued support for the Office of the President of the General Assembly, as well as its role as co-facilitator of the Political Declaration of the World Social Summit.

Talks also focused on the reforms proposed under the UN80 Initiative and on the process for selecting the next UN Secretary-General, according to the account of the meeting released by the Office of the President of the General Assembly.

Mr. Bourita and Ms. Baerbock also addressed regional cooperation and the importance of joint efforts in the service of peace and stability in the Middle East.
