"We reaffirm the position that we have always defended concerning Morocco and the Sahara, which are an inseparable unit," Haimbe told the press following a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly.

In this regard, he expressed Zambia's willingness to continue cooperation with Morocco "as friends, brothers, and allies" on the basis of this position.

Recalling the signing of several partnership agreements in Laayoune during the first Morocco-Zambia Joint Commission meeting in December 2024, Haimbe stressed that these agreements would "strengthen the ongoing commitment between our two countries."

Within the framework of this partnership, Zambia will continue to be "Morocco's gateway to Southern Africa, in the interests of both peoples," he added.

The Zambian minister added that the next session of the joint commission, scheduled for 2026 in Lusaka, will be an opportunity to continue this momentum in the spirit of "friendship, brotherhood, and unity."
