An Israeli drone strike has killed one person in southern Lebanon in yet another violation of a ceasefire agreement with the Hezbollah resistance movement.
In a statement on Thursday, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health said that an Israeli drone targeted a motorcycle on the road connecting the towns of Ain Baal and Bazourieh, both situated in the South Governorate, killing one person.
A similar Israeli drone attack on Tuesday wounded a person south of Lebanon's capital city of Beirut.
The Israeli military also conducted airstrikes on eastern Lebanon on Monday, killing five people and injuring five others.
Speaking on Wednesday, the secretary general of the Hezbollah resistance movement said that Israel has been seeking to occupy Lebanon, but it is "deterred today and cannot find a foothold on our land."
Sheikh Naim Qassem also noted that the Lebanese resistance has played a crucial role in forming an "impenetrable barrier" against Israel.
Last year's ceasefire deal obliged Israel to halt its aggression and the Lebanese government to assume its responsibilities by removing the occupier from the country, but neither of these two objectives has been achieved so far, he added.
Israel launched its aggression against Lebanon in October 2023 in response to Hezbollah's pro-Palestinian airstrikes against the occupied territories.
The regime, however, agreed to a truce deal after failing to stop the resistance operations and cripple Hezbollah as it had sought.
Since the ceasefire began on November 27, 2024, Israel has carried out near-daily strikes on Lebanon and violated the country's sovereignty thousands of times.
The Tel Aviv regime also keeps occupying five strategic points in southern Lebanon that provide a commanding view of the area and a superior firing position.
